About Circle T Alpacas

We love the alpaca lifestyle and the peace and joy that these animals bring. As parents of two young children, we appreciate the gentle spirit of these animals and the life lessons and hard work that our children are learning as young alpaca ranchers.

Tonya has a background in showing, evaluating and training horses near Sioux Falls, SD.  She spent summers on the farm with cattle, sheep, horses, cats and dogs and also worked spraying weeds and putting up hay on the family farm.  Her educational background is in Business Mgt., Education with an MA in Counseling.  This background has served her well in the alpaca industry in the marketing, advertising, showing, evaluating and PR aspects of alpaca ownership.

Tracy grew up in rural MO in a small town and was active in various sports while growing up.  Trac spent summers putting up hay and working in the ASARCO plant.  Trac has numerous mechanical talents and can build and fix most things around the farm.  He is the chief “medical” man and assistant in birthings.  He has a Technology Management and Mechanical Engineering background and is Self-Employed.

In 2000 we purchased our first animals and began searching for acreage in UT.  We were fortunate to find an acreage with over 60 acres minutes from Park City, UT.  We soon began building our house, followed by fencing pastures and shelters.  We now have a place that boasts 8 pastures ranging from 1 to 6 acres each.  4 of these feed into the barn, while two adjoin each other with each having their own shelter.  One pasture, directly under the house, is the maternity pasture and has a shelter and grazing for the summer months.  We also have a nice quarantine pen for visiting Dams and crias which is housed under our bedroom window and is guarded by our female llama  team.

We plan to remain small breeders of Suri and Huacaya alpacas and are 10 minutes from Park City, UT. We have spent spring of 2005 adding diversity and elite genetics into our herd and had some exciting, mostly female crias in 2007.   In 2008, we acquired some fabulous herdsires to join our home grown and award winning Huacaya herdsire, CTA'S Peruvian Zechariah. The evidence of quality is in both our placing in the show ring and the incredible fleeces that these animals display. Our Suri's are represented by: Macgyver, Torbio, Peruvian Sedoso, Supremo, Bentley, Peruvian Aureo, Peruvian Uribe, Peruvian Starbucks and Mister Lothario and Accoyo Ace. The Huacayas genetics include: Legacy, Kryptonite, Peruvian Caligula, Peruvian Felix, Mr. Know-it-all, The Silversmith, Peruvian Snowmaster and Peruvian Hemmingway.
